As the year draws to an end, our foodie souls wander to find a spot that would mark a remarkable feast, one that cannot be easily forgotten, ever! So, this time, we headed towards Catch Dubai which is located inside the iconic Fairmont Dubai at Sheikh Zayed Road, for a sophisticated dining spree amidst stunning waterside views of the Arabian Gulf.
Coming all the way from New York for its first international venture, Catch is an amazing fine-dining restaurant that is not confused about its identity at all! There are a lot of things that are exactly the same as their NYC menu, but as Catch Dubai, they have derived a customized menu for the Dubai clientele by adding on a whole bunch of local favorites. In fact, they are famous for several dishes like the Lobster momos, Truffle Mushrooms, Wagyu on the Rock, and many many more. With a wide range of high quality “wow-dishes” to offer, the restaurant has even managed to position itself as a celebrity magnet.
Catch Dubai has been revamped with exposed brick walls, classy deep leather banquettes and brass furnishings, and also flaunts a beautiful Sushi bar now. Even the drinks menu is massive with a refreshing selection of mocktails and other beverages as well. Moreover, for those who love oysters, well surprise! There’s a raw bar waiting to tempt you beyond imagination. Here, enjoy a drool-worthy glance at the feast we truly relished every bite of!
This was a one-of-a-kind cold starter, not only delicious but gorgeously presented. There was Salmon, Hamachi, Tuna, Caviar, Wasabi Crème Fraich Avocado, Scallion, so neatly organized on a single platter that we hardly felt like spoiling its decorative look. But then again, it was too difficult to resist!
Crunchy Rice Cakes
From the hot starters we picked crunchy rice cakes stuffed nicely with Tuna tartare and Wasabi Tobiko. It’s amazing how this place thinks out of the box when putting together top-notch seafood into delectable dishes.

Korean Fried Chicken Bao
This one’s for all those who are huge fans of authentic Korean food, and even those who aren’t! The Korean style fried chicken is something you may regret not trying, it’s served with spicy coleslaw and pistachio so the combination tastes great.
There was so much to try from the attractive sushi counter, but we decided to settle for the Hellfire Roll, which was as spicy as it sounds, and the special Catch Roll which was done up with a burst of flavors derived from crab, salmon, jalapeno and miso-honey. Thumbs up for both of these!
Wagyu on the Rock
Okay, this was the BOMB! We actually got to grill the Wagyu meat on the rock so it was a superb experience, and then the taste was mind-blowing! This is something I’d be ordering each time I visit this place. It’s so good!

So, from the “Big Fish” list, we went straight for the Scampi Lobster and it served out to be surprisingly delightful. Prepared with artichoke, garlic and chilli flakes, the taste, quality and tenderness of this huge beautiful piece of lobster turned out to be the best thing ever! We also ordered some grilled asparagus and sesame soy as sides with this one.
Another mouth-watering dish we had here was the juicy and perfectly tender tenderloin. You won’t be able to resist a bite of it even if you are full already. What’s better was that it was served along with parmesan fries and chimichurri sauce. Scrumptious!
To treat your sweet tooth, Catch Dubai has the perfect dessert in store. They call it the “Hit Me” chocolate cake which is a beautiful piece of goodness done with white chocolate ice cream, chocolate brownie, and “hit” with liquid “Klondike” on the top right in front of eyes. A beauty to watch and a taste of heaven in your mouth!
In a nutshell. Catch Dubai turned out to be one of those exceptionally good places that we’ve ever dined at, an absolute world class experience with no flaws whatsoever. I can easily list this place among the top three favorite restaurants I’ve visited this year. It serves as a complete gastronomical retreat, so if you ever wish to take your take your taste-buds on a fancy holiday, there’s no better place than Catch Dubai! Bonus points for the cozy ambiance and warm hospitality.
