Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor is a fine dining restaurant that serves unique and authentic Indian cuisine prepared by the celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor himself! The renowned Indian chef has bagged several awards and is the author if quite a few books.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor at Meliá Dubai as a part of the pre-Ramadan Iftaar menu tasting organized by Jive with Deepti who always hosts wonderful events.
A review of the place really isn’t needed as Sanjeev Kapoor’s name is enough to ensure everyone that Signature is a great place to dine at, but still I would like to share my experience. This was my first time at this restaurant and frankly, I was completely bowled over. They have the perfect ambiance of a fine dining restaurant, a covered outer deck, a carefully crafted menu consisting of authentic dishes, a hospitable staff, and they serve shisha too.
I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful head chef Chander Chur Chamoli who briefed us on the menu and gave us a selection of traditional sweets 🙂
They have a set menu for Ramadan. The menu consists of starters mains and desserts. We sampled a little of it all and couldn’t find a fault with any dish. From plating to taste to service, everything was on point.
I was absolutely in awe by the Non Veg starters, I requested for a second helping of the prawns and lamb chops. That’s how good they were. My fellow foodie who’s a vegetarian thoroughly enjoyed her food too.
The Pani Puri was nice too and was served in a very beautiful manner. Feast your eyes on the pictures to understand what I’m talking about. I also tried two traditional drinks- Roh Afza and Qamardeen-both were done right.
For Starters you can choose one of the two available combinations.
- Rumani Paneer, Masala Chaas Rubiyan, Hummus ki Gilawat, Zatar & Curry Leaf Spiked Baby Corn Crackers.
- Saffron Scented Prawns, Olive & Nuts Stuffed Chicken Roula, Sumac Spiked Grilled Fish and Charcoal Roast Lamb Chop
For mains they serve Dum Ka Murg, Kabuli Channa Gosht, Paneer Papad Tokri, Tossed Baby Potatoes & Cherry Tomatoes and Cauliflower. All this is accompanied with Lalla Mussa Daal, Chicken Biryani, Veggie Pot, Assorted breads, naan and parathas.
In desserts they have Mahalabia, Firni, Chenna Angoori, Malpua and Gajar ka Halwa.
the pana cotta served on a small black spoon was very nice unlike the typical beetle leaf flavored at Indian diners.
All this will be available throughout the month of Ramadan from 7pm to midnight at a price of AED 149 per person. They have branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha so be sure to head to the branch nearest to you as you don’t want to miss out on this. See you there!
